Educators and students interested in “on demand” career learning resources will find them on our website and our YouTube channel. We’re continuing to expand the Snack & Learn series that we launched last fall with videos that educators and students can access whenever they have time. Additionally, we’re still offering our hugely popular Career Journeys video library, which has been dramatically expanded since we began it a little more than a year ago.
The Snack & Learn series kicked off with sessions students could either attend virtually or watch in recorded form whenever they had time.
“We began adding to the library of recordings over the summer after realizing that lots of students and teachers were using them but had found their class schedules conflicted with the virtual sessions,” said Program Director Gina Barrett.
The Snack & Learn collection complements our Career Journeys series, which is built around the individual career stories of professionals across a wide variety of occupations and industries. Those professionals each share insights about why they chose their fields, how they got into them, and what their careers are like.
By contrast, the presenters in our Snack & Learn videos are talking more about their companies or their industries, rather than about their individual jobs or career paths.
“We’re thrilled with the reception both of these series have had,” Barrett said. “We created them to give educators and students career learning resources at a time when on-site experiences like job shadows were unavailable, but we found that even after schools reopened, the videos continued getting heavy traffic on our YouTube channel.”
